AT-LUSS

Origin

In Greek mythology, Atlas was the leader of the Titan rebellion against the almighty Zeus, and as a punishment, was condemned to hold up the sky for all eternity. He is synonymous with endurance.

The Atlas is our Adaptable Inside the Waistband (IWB) Holster, and is so named because of its incredible ability to stand the test of time – it is the epitome of versatility, allowing you to use the same holster even if your carry position or style eventually changes; it’s the holster that allows you to basically do it all.

Use

  • The Atlas is designed to be worn anywhere from 12 to 4 o’clock – the holster either clips onto your belt (if you choose a style of clip as either the primary or secondary hardware) or is fastened to your belt with a pull-the-dot snap(s) (if you choose a style of soft loop as either the primary or secondary hardware). Either way, the holster is worn inside your pants.
  • This holster is ideal for carrying concealed on your hip or in the appendix position.

About This Holster

If you’re the type of person who likes to switch up their carry position, and you love having tons of options, this is the holster for you.

This holster gives customers the most carry options, and belt hardware options, possible. No other IWB holster comes with the ability to accept every single type of IWB belt hardware that we offer, plus numerous different cant positions and several different ride height options. It even comes with two different types of belt hardware – a primary and secondary system.

The Atlas is molded to fit a specific handgun model; your handgun will only fit in the holster that is designed specifically for it. This holster does not accommodate any weapon-mounted lights or lasers, such as the TLR1 or Crimson Trace. If you are using a light or laser on your gun, this holster will not work. Please order the light-bearing version of this holster, The Zeus, instead.

BELT HARDWARE OPTIONS

The Atlas comes with your choice of TWO DIFFERENT SETS OF BELT HARDWARE - a Primary set, and a Secondary set. Having two different sets of belt hardware gives you the option to change up your carry style (go from appendix carry to hip carry) or your carry preference (easy-on, easy-off or more secure). Available options include our Standard Clip, our Appendix Clip, Standard Soft Loops, or Appendix-Style Soft Loop. You choose the primary and secondary hardware you prefer during checkout. If you prefer only a Primary set, you may select “no Secondary belt hardware” and $5 will automatically be deducted from the holster price. The Primary set is what we install on your holster when sending it out to you. The Secondary set is an extra kit of hardware that you install yourself when/if you want to. The customer selects two choices from four available types of belt hardware upon checkout.

No matter what types of belt hardware you select at checkout, The Atlas is designed to accept ANY of the IWB belt hardware we offer. So if you decide later that you want to purchase a different set of IWB belt hardware than what came with your holster (you can do this by going to the Extra Hardware section of our website), your holster will automatically accommodate that hardware.

The Standard Clip hooks onto your belt, and is available in two different sizes: 1.5”, which most belts will fit through, or 1.75”. The Standard Clip can be used for hip carry, or appendix carry, and has a wider design than the Appendix Clip. When using the Standard Clip on your holster, you are not able to tuck your shirt in.

The Appendix Clip also hooks onto your belt, and is also available in two different sizes: 1.5”, which most belts will fit through, or 1.75”. The Appendix Clip can also be used for hip carry, or appendix carry, and has a narrower width than the Standard Clip. When using the Appendix Clip on your holster, you ARE able to tuck your shirt in. Depending on the size of your specific firearm, your Appendix Clip may come with either three or four predrilled holes.

The Standard Soft Loops come as a set – two separate soft loops that feature a urethane-coated polyester with a pull-the-dot snap. These loops firmly secure the holster to your belt, ensuring the holster can only be removed by releasing the snaps. The snaps are directional – you must pull the snaps at a specific angle to release them. When using the Standard Soft Loops with your holster, you are not able to tuck your shirt in. These soft loops are adjustable in size, allowing them to fit belts up to 1.75”.

The Appendix-Style Soft Loop is one soft loop - a urethane-coated polyester with a pull-the-dot snap – and a polymer strut. This loop firmly secures the holster to your belt, ensuring the holster can only be removed by releasing the snap. The snap is directional – you must pull the snap at a specific angle to release it. When using the Appendix-Style Soft Loop with your holster, you ARE able to tuck your shirt in – this is why the polymer strut is included; it’s necessary for tucking your shirt in. This soft loop is adjustable in size, allowing it to fit belts up to 1.75.”

ADJUSTABLE CANT

The Atlas also comes with adjustable cant.

When using our Standard Clip or the Standard Soft Loops, you are able to utilize the Standard Hole Pattern to set the holster’s cant to either no cant or 15 degrees. We typically recommend no cant for either appendix or hip carry, and 15 degrees for hip carry only.

ADJUSTABLE RIDE HEIGHT

The Atlas also offers two different methods of adjustable ride height.

When using our Standard Clip or Standard Soft Loops, you are again able to utilize the Standard Hole Pattern (mentioned above) to lower or raise the ride height of the holster.

ADJUSTABLE RETENTION

The Atlas also comes with adjustable retention. It is controlled by four different screws, grouped together in two sets - one set holds the Concealment Claw into place. The other set is located on the bottom left of your holster (right if you're left handed). Adjusting the screws will give the customer a tighter or looser fit on their gun.

Remember: it's important to ALWAYS check your retention after changing out the belt hardware on this holster - certain belt hardware options use the hole pattern that controls the adjustable retention.

CONCEALMENT CLAW

The Concealment Claw on the left side (right side if you’re a left-handed shooter) of the holster rests against the back side of your belt, forcing the grip of the gun further into the body than normal, aiding in concealment.

This is something that most customers need to get used to, as it can be uncomfortable at first. Therefore, the Concealment Claw is detachable, in case you decide it’s something you’d rather do without. If you remove the Concealment Claw permanently, your retention will be affected because the screws will bottom out in the posts. Please contact ACS Customer Service via email (info@alphaconceal.com) to request a different set of posts/screws to prevent this issue. These are free.

We recommend removing the concealment claw when using this holster at a 15-degree cant - this is because the concealment claw won't make enough contact in this cant to function, and therefore won't push the grip of your gun closer to your body. If the concealment claw doesn't bother you when using this holster at a 15-degree cant, you're welcome to forgo removing it.

If you do remove the Concealment Claw permanently, your retention will be affected because the screws will bottom out in the posts. Please contact ACS Customer Service via email (info@alphaconceal.com) to request a different set of posts/screws to prevent this issue. These are free.
